Andrew Warhola was born in 1928, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He majored in pictorial design at the Carnegie Institute of Technology. When he graduated he moved to New York where he started working as a commercial artist and illustrator for several magazines, Vogue, The New Yorker, and Harper’s Bazaar. In the 1950’s, Warhola had a successful job as a commercial artist, earning several awards for his talents and soon shortens his name to Warhol (Andy Warhol // Biography).
